Banke Adediran
LL.B., Master of Laws (LL.M).

Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 2007, Banke’s practice has focused exclusively on Family Law, with emphasis on Matrimonial Property, Domestic Violence, Support and Custody cases. Her international background working with families underscores her understanding of the practice of Family Law.

Banke has consistently advocated for her clients, guiding both men and women through difficult divorces and complex family issues. Her swift approach to litigation coupled with her dedication to her clients has enabled her to best achieve her clients’ goals and safeguard their interests.

Banke counsels expertly, fights tooth and nail when needed, negotiates when appropriate and ensures that you are comfortable every step of the way.

Associate Lawyer

Soni Dhaliwal
B.A., J.D.

Soni joined Adept Family Lawyers as an Articling Student in 2017 and was called to the Bar in 2018. She has been dedicated to the practice of family law from the very beginning. Her strongest skill set is in the issues of custody, spousal support and matrimonial property. Soni is a skilled negotiator and litigator, and has favourably litigated cases involving parenting arrangements, child and spousal support and the division of property. Soni is a firm believer in providing clients with consistent service and custom solutions.

Prior to joining Adept Family Lawyers, Soni completed her legal education at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with Distinction. While at law school, she completed a semester long placement with Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City, a legal clinic focused on assisting disadvantaged clients and improving access to justice. As such, she has experience in representing clients on matters including family law, immigration, and small claims. This opportunity helped her gain advocacy skills and adopt a client-centered approach.

Soni is fluent in Punjabi. In her spare time, Soni enjoys reading, volunteering, and spending time with family. Originally from the Okanagan Valley, she now calls Calgary home.

Amanda Khalil 
B.A., LL.B.

Amanda is a Student-at-Law with Adept Family Lawyers. She has an honours degree in Philosophy with a minor in business from the University of Calgary and received her second-class honours law degree in 2016 from the University of Southampton, England, a recognized top 100 global university and Russel Group educational institution. During Amanda’s time in England she volunteered with the European Union in their animal welfare programs by providing legal research and was the only candidate from her graduating class to shadow Andy Ransom and his legal team at Rentokil Initial Plc.

Although she pursued her legal degree at a later point in life, Amanda is backed by a previous career in marketing and business development and has an outstanding ability to connect with others and foster long-term partnerships based on trust and mutual respect. During her previous work with other law firms and because of her background, Amanda would have regular contact with clientele, and would assist in determining their legal needs and providing support.

Amanda has always been active in Calgary’s community and has volunteered with multiple charities including the Daraja Foundation and Woods Homes and has recently joined a partnership as a Co-Chair in launching a new event, which works closely with Calgary’s CEOs and focuses on ridding the stigma of failure while working with the entrepreneurial community. Amanda is always pursuing new challenges both in her legal career and personal life, she loves to travel and spend time with her family.

Ngozi Aghanya
B.A., LL.B.

Ngozi is a Student-at-Law with Adept Family Lawyers. She earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. Ngozi has a wealth of experience, working as a Corporate & Commercial Associate in a leading Nigerian full-service law firm and as an in-house Legal Counsel to a financial service proprietary investment company.

Ngozi has brought her strong corporate & commercial background into family law, while advocating and protecting her clients’ financial interests, to achieve the outcomes that they seek and finding long-lasting resolutions for clients and their families.

When she is not working, Ngozi enjoys watching soccer and spending quality time with her family.

Legal Assistant

Suzy Graham

Suzy is an administrator at Adept Family Lawyers. She graduated with a certificate in Addictions Counseling and has worked with families dealing with domestic violence, as well as helping guide families and individuals to access resources when in distress.

Suzy assists with Family law Matters, Immigration and Wills & Estate.

She has a strong passion for helping others, and working in family law gives her a more dynamic approach to helping families in need.

In her spare time, Suzy enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her 2 dogs.

Real Estate Paralegal

Fang Zhou

Fang joined Adept Family Lawyers as a Paralegal in February of 2015 and as since been an integral member of our team.

Fang specializes in residential & commercial real estate transactions. Her dedication to her job and our clients is second to none. Fang provides a high level of service and attention to details in all of her Real Estate deals. She remains professional while projecting the ability to empathize with clients’ needs on a daily basis. Her easy-going demeanour brings a sense of calm to all situations.
